How Many Episodes are there in the Naruto & Naruto Shippuden Filler List?

The Japanese amine series Naruto and its sequel Naruto Shippuden, based on the manga series of the same name, has become such a global phenomenon that it is a separate universe in itself. And the action does, in fact, take place in a fictional universe filled with ninjas (on both sides of the fence) who have superhuman abilities. Since the first episode was aired on October 3, 2007, a total of 703 episodes have been broadcast so far, including 220 in Naruto, the first part, and 483 in Naruto Shippuden, the second part.

However, not all the episodes are based on original storyline featured in the manga series. Many of the episodes have their own storyline (without deviating from the main storyline, of course). These episodes that are known as filler episodes and their purpose is to give the manga artists more time to create storylines that can be adapted to the anime series. For example, when the anime storyline moves ahead of the manga storyline, then fillers give the manga artists enough time to catch up.

In total, the Naruto and Naruto Shippuden filler list is made of 309 episodes, which are fillers. This brings the total percentage of fillers to just above 40% so far. Since the anime series tends to progress faster than the manga series, because manga is often restricted by space, the number of fillers is certain to rise in the future. Although many fans do not like fillers and find them uninteresting, they serve to give insight into the life experiences of different characters. Well, now you know how you can avoid the filler episodes. BTW, I also have created a list of Naruto The Movies as well.
